At the end of week 3 the beloved official Fat-Off scale met its fate. RIP.
We have a brand new scale thanks to Fat-Off contestant Tim Agersea. However, the new scale weighs "heavier" than the old scale. Based on the raw numbers, only one participant showed any loss last week. Therefore, everyone got a freebie last week.
So, how are we going to adjust for this change going forward you ask?
Well, as a group our total weight loss from baseline through the end of week 3 (4 data points) most closely a binomial curve (versus a line or any other polynomial curve). So, if we take the data for the group as a whole and extrapolate along a best-fit binomial curve, we find that the scale is "heavy" buy approximately 2.4 lbs.
Going forward, we will subtract 2.4 lbs from the weight on the scale and that will be your "official" weight.
Adjusted Week 4 results are coming soon.
